DON’T LEAVE COMMENTARY

Thank-you for holding and reading my book whether you purchased it or received it as a gift. My prayer for you: that God’s love, favor, and blessings are apparent all around you as you deepen your relationship with Him. Together let’s check it out, as we look for the Christian/Biblical connections on the pages of “Don’t Leave.” Remember, in all the Trinity Editions of the Gamma Series, the key animal represents the attributes, characteristics, traits, personality, or the nature of God, the Father; God, the Son; or God, the Holy Spirit. As His children, we should also reflect our Father in all areas.

So, let’s get started:

  1. Starting with the title, “Don’t Leave” is an imperative command and is asking someone to stay. In the case of this story, it is the new friend, a bear. We can sometimes feel as though God has left us or is not hearing our prayers. Hebrews 13:5 says, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
  2. The story starts out with a move or change of address. As Christians we must take that first step to move into God’s Kingdom, changing our eternal home. Halleluah!
  3. In the backyard we see trees and hear sounds reminding us that God gifted us with incredible
    senses.
  4. The “hidden gate” in the fence is a representation of our heart.
  5. Right from the start, the bear becomes Aiden’s friend, just as Jesus becomes our friend. John 15:15 states, “I no longer call you servants . . . I have called you friends.”
  6. In the book, the bear visits Aiden three times – Spring, Summer, and Fall. Three is a very significant number in the Bible as in the Trinity. Check out how many times three is mentioned in the Word.
  7. Aiden and the bear swing, play in the rain and in the leaves showing a fun and lively side of each as their relationship grows deeper. Aiden looks forward to spending time with the bear. And the bear is happy to return saying he knows Aiden’s address (heart).
  8. When they romped and tumbled in the leaves, little bear ended up smack dab in the middle of the pile. Many Scripture verses support Christians having Christ in the center of our lives.
  9. Toward the end of the book, the bear prepares Aiden for the delay in his return. Bears hibernate during the winter months. The Bible details Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and His Second Coming.
  10. The bear temporarily and physically leaves Aiden telling him how deeply he loves and cares for him.
  11. A few things to notice: the heart with the word “love” inside carved on the tree. The cross and shadow as the bear walks toward the woods. The reflection of the bear in Aiden’s glasses on the last page of the story has deeper meaning. The colorful sunrise on the pages with the Points to Pause, Ponder and Pursue.

Just an FYI there may be more connections than those I have listed. I’ll add them if you let me know.

T-Shirt (heat pressed) saying on the Bear:
    LOVE HAS NO BOUNDARIES
    Book’s GEM:
See if you can find the pages that have tiny bees hidden on them. (Hint: Look on the pages after the bees are introduced.)
Please check out the Points to Pause, Ponder, and Pursue at the end of this book.
Thank you for taking the time to read my book.
My hope is that you enjoyed Aiden’s allegorical, whimsical adventures. But, even more, my goal is that this book becomes a catalyst for discussions with children bringing God’s Word and His deep love for us into the conversations, hopefully leading to a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.
